Québécois Jazz in Downbeat

Check out the March 2025 issue of Downbeat Magazine (on newsstands now!) to read James Hale‘s excellent column detailing a few recent Québécois jazz releases. We’re thrilled that two albums we worked on are included in the piece: congrats to Alain Bédard (Particules Sonores) and Simon Angell and Tommy Crane (Angell & Crane) on each receiving a four star review! A huge thanks to James and everyone at Downbeat.

We’re particularly happy to see saxophonist Mario Allard’s beautiful playing singled out in the review of Particules Sonores. Tragically, Mario passed away in an accident in January. A beloved member of Montreal’s vibrant jazz community, he’ll be sorely missed. A Go Fund Me has been set up to help support his family in their time of need.

Four Orange Grove Artist’s on Peter Hum’s list of 2024 best Canadian jazz!

Congrats to CD9 (Reverence – #2); Bryn Roberts (Aloft – #8); Teri Parker’s Free Spirits (Peaks and Valleys – #11); and Jocelyn Gould (Portrait of Right Now – #12.)
